Cote d'Ivoire

Côte d'Ivoire or Ivory Coast, officially the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, is a country in West Africa. Côte d'Ivoire borders Liberia and Guinea to the west, Mali and Burkina Faso to the north, Ghana to the east, and the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean to the south.

The economy of Cote d'Ivoire is one of the most prosperous of those of the developing countries in western Africa and more generally in sub-Saharan Africa. The industry knows a relatively important development. Cote d'Ivoire also has important oil reserves, realises a considerable production of electricity and exploits mining resources diversified, constituted by the gold, the diamond, the iron and copper. In conformance with the farm produces which dominate its economy, notably coffee and cocoa, Cote d'Ivoire occupies one of the first ranks in the world rank.

The government officially discourages the use of the name Ivory Coast in English, preferring the French nameCôte d'Ivoire to be used in all languages.
