The Republic of Rwanda is a country in the Great Lakes region of east-central Africa, bordered by Uganda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Tanzania.
A verdant country of fertile and hilly terrain, the small republic bears the title "Land of a Thousand Hills"

Rwanda is a rural country with about 90% of the population engaged in (subsistence) agriculture. Its primary exports are coffee, tea, flowers and minerals (mainly Coltan, which is used in the manufacture of electronic and communication devices (such as mobile phones)) . Tourism is a growing sector, notably ecotourism (Nyungwe Forest, Lake Kivu) and the world famous and unique mountain gorillas in the Virunga park.
