The Republic of Rwanda is a country in the Great Lakes region of east-central Africa, bordered by Uganda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Tanzania.
A verdant country of fertile and hilly terrain, the small republic bears the title "Land of a Thousand Hills"

Rwanda is a rural country with about 90% of the population engaged in (subsistence) agriculture. Its primary exports are coffee, tea, flowers and minerals. Tourism is a growing sector, notably ecotourism (Nyungwe Forest, Lake Kivu) and the world famous and unique mountain gorillas in the Virunga park.
